And now…the Directors cut.

By popular demand I’ve set up a Tea with Bin laden’s brother Facebook page and am busy uploading previously unseen ‘footage’. The plan is to include original drawings and photographs which hit the cutting room floor during editing. Take a look and let me know what you’d like to see.

Day One. Starter motor failure....

Iran..the Dusty Highway.

Original artwork auction at Ted Simon Foundation

Ted Simon Foundation launch - Coventry Transport Museum – October 6th

Jupiter’s Travels. Perhaps the book that started the Adventure Motorbiking trend that fills our magazine shelves and TV screens so much now. Certainly got me buying guide books from far off places with a far off look in my eyes.  Follow the link above to find out more of what they are planning.

I was honoured to be invited to the event and donated a piece of original artwork from my book towards the auction. Austin Vince, of Mondo Enduro fame, stepped forward as auctioneer and wrestled over £2000 out of the audience for items which included his legendary overalls, knickers worn by Lois Pryce throughout her African Odyssey and the original helmet Ted Simon wore on his round the world trip.

If you’re interested in buying or commissioning original artwork, please get in touch.

Meanwhile temperatures and exchange rates drop throughout Europe and men and women look indoors for their amusement….the perfect time to buy an adventure motorbiking book such as Tea with Bin Laden’s Brother! I look forward to hearing from you.

Easier to find than Bin Laden. June 23-26th.

June already – How did that happen? Just putting the finishing touches to my presentation for the Horizons Unlimited rally at Ripley in Derbyshire on June 23-26th.

I’m definitely doing a presentation (and being filmed!) on the Friday afternoon and hopefully on the Saturday too.I’m there the whole weekend signing copies and generally enjoying the world of Overland Biking. It’s an inspirational place to be – hope to meet you there.

Came across this while doing some research on Google …made me laugh – nervously.

Wanted!

Well, it’s all been quiet in the world of Adventure motorbiking mainly because I’m in France and my bike’s under a tarpaulin in an English garden.

Plan is to return to the UK at the end of June, put a few thousand volts through it and get off to the Horizons Unlimited rally in Ripley, Derbyshire for the Overland Motorbiking Event of the year! I’ll be there doing a couple of presentations, signing books and getting inspiration from the assembled adventurers. It’s a great weekend – not to be missed.

Gripping tales from the ‘Dusty Highway’…

“Official’ book launch and Travel lecture went very well despite technical hitch in Powerpoint presentation. Actually worked in my favour as I had to adlib and tell more stories. Now busy with more promotion and will be appearing personally at the Carole Nash Bike show at the NEC on the Traveldri stand no. B30 on Saturday 27th November.Other dates to be confirmed.
